Kristin & Chad first met while working at a Christian Camp at Hume lake over summer vacation.   Chad was a junior high counselor and Kristin was working in the office.

One evening, soon after arrival, the youth pastor invited Kristin for shakes and a movie and she realized that she was being set up when Chad was the only other person there.  They were both adamant that it wasn’t going to happen and carried on their duties through the rest of the week.

However, upon arriving back home at the end of camp, she received a phone call from Chad.  His first excuse for calling was to inquire about a student that had “forgotten” his bible in Chad’s car.  Week after week, they continued to find excuses to call each other.

Thus, begins the beautiful start of a budding romance.

As for the proposal… that would come 5 years later.

In Kristin’s words:

It was a beautiful day at Avila Beach.  [We were] staying with his parents and Chad took me down to see the Sea Lions and watch kiteboarding like we had done many times before. After a few minutes of being out on the sand, Chad got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!  To my surprise he had set up a camera and recorded everything…it was the perfect moment [with] just the two of us! He said he wanted to go back to his parents “real quick” to show them the ring and then we were supposed to be heading over to Carpenteria where my parents were camping for the weekend.

It turns out that Chad recording the proposal was not the only surprise he had up his sleeve. When I walked through the door at his parents house, not only were his parents there but so was my family, his family and all our friends! It was the greatest surprise!!! (Everyone did such a good job keeping the secret.) We ended the day with family and friends celebrating our engagement….it was PERFECT 🙂

Capturing their beautiful love story was such a joy and blessing for me!  Even though the day was excruciatingly HOT, everyone smiled and had a wonderful time celebrating the joining of two amazing people.

Congratulations, Kristin & Chad!  May you have many, many beautiful and wonderful years together… {and babies!} 😉
